What does a web hosting CO₂ report show?

The web hosting CO₂ report makes the calculated CO₂ emissions of your entire web hosting account visible. It uses available website, database and email traffic data and evaluates it using our documented calculation methodology.

The report itself does not reduce emissions. It provides the data needed to identify where data transfers, and the emissions associated with them, can be reduced. As the host, we influence the infrastructure; website operators largely determine how much data is transferred. What seems small for a single website adds up to a large total volume across many websites.
